Feed Me, Seymour!

Journalists are increasingly using social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter to develop sources and cover the news.
My last feature was set up via Facebook.
Even if you choose to never use these websites for news coverage, you might want to sign up so you can chat with your plants.

A group at NYU has figured out how plants can use twitter to let you know when they need to be watered.
Read it here.

  1. That is Crazy! Talking to your plants is good only in person cause the Carbon Dioxide is good for them. Twitter does not have CO2…

  2. Hi, first time reader here. Twitter, which I truly don’t understand, is a great way to feed news items to a group. TWICE’s Twitter site is automatically updated via an RSS feed so each time a story is posted it also goes out on Twitter. Basically it’s just a headline and a link, but that is enough.

After just a few weeks we have several hundred followers with about five new people signing on each day. However, the most important aspect is Twitter is driving traffic to TWICE.com.

I still have no idea why someone would use Twitter in their personal life, but it’s a great news tool.
