Coming Soon 3.0?

Apple is expected to introduce it’s new iPhone 2.0 today. News 12 Business Correspondent Bob Plunkett told me that the new phone has already been shipped to stores. (They will go on sale July 11th.)
But when they do, one might cost you significantly less than you paid for your iPhone 1.0.
With the iPhone 2.0, I started thinking about all the Web 2.0, 3.0 discussion. (I know it’s different.) But even a woman I was interviewing for a new media posting (coming soon on this blog) said she feels it’s a really exciting time to be part of the web as we move from 2.0 to what they’re now calling Web 3.0.
So what is 2.0? And should we wait for the iPhone 3.0 to emerge?
Not likely. Apple will probably release 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4 etc, before we officially move into Web 3.0.
The best way I can describe buzzwords 2.0 and 3.0 is to offer you a link. Click here.
But quickly, 1.0 offered us the ability to read and search.
2.0 enabled us to contribute content and interact. YouTube and MySpace are examples.
3.0 is described as the future. Taking us into a 3-D world of intelligent internet living. Software applications might be able to think like humans, understanding and (correctly) interpreting data.
